Prefer a bigger screen? You can run any Pickleheads event from a laptop or your club's front desk computer, right in your browser at pickleheads.com.
No app needed.
It's the same tool as the app, so round robins, leagues, ladders and tournaments all work the same way.
On a laptop, your matchups and standings sit side by side.
Your players don't need the app either.
They can open the event from your session page and enter their own scores in a browser.
Add Display Mode on a TV, and everyone at the courts can see where they're playing and where they stand.
Here's how to set it up.

How to set it up
1. Open your event
Go to your sessions and open the session for your event. Setting up a new one? Create a session and choose your format under Add a round robin.
On the session page, find the Round Robin or League event card. Regular sessions show Round Robin, and league sessions show League event.
The button on the card changes as your event moves along:
- Set Up before Round 1 starts. It opens your player list.
- Open once Round 1 has started. It opens your matchups.
- Results after the event ends. It opens the final standings.
Your event opens in a new browser tab, so your session page stays open in the first one.

đź’ˇ Pro tip: Use a wide browser window. When it's at least 1024 pixels wide and wider than it is tall, your event shows two panes: Players and Standings on the left, and Matchups on the right. If you see one column, make the window bigger and reload the page.
2. Set your round timer (optional)
If you’re running timed rounds, click the timer button at the top of the tool. Pick one of the recommended lengths (10 to 15 minutes) or set your own, then click Save.
You only set it once. Each time you start a round, the timer resets to your round length, ready for you to click Start.

How players enter scores in a browser
Players in your session can follow along and enter their own scores without the app. They sign in at pickleheads.com, open your session page and click the Round Robin or League event card.
Once a round starts, they see their matchups and click Add Score on their game when it ends. Scores from the app and the browser show up in the same place, and your standings update as they come in.
What to keep on your laptop and what to put on the TV
Run your event on your laptop, and put Display Mode on the TV. Your laptop is where you check players in, start rounds and enter scores. The TV shows players where they're playing and where they stand, and it updates on its own.
Open Display Mode from the display button at the top of the tool, or from the Display row on your session page. For the step-by-step setup for each device, see our Display Mode guide.
One laptop plugged into the TV
Use the TV as a second screen, with the tool on your laptop and Display Mode on the TV.
- Plug your laptop into the TV with an HDMI cable.
- In your laptop's display settings, set the TV to extend your screen, not mirror it.
- Open your display link in a new browser window, drag it onto the TV and go full screen.
- Keep your event open on your laptop screen.
A laptop for the tool and a second device on the TV
If another laptop, an iPad or a TV with a web browser is already connected to your screen, open the display link there. Copy your display link from the Display row on your session page and open it on that device. Then run the tool on your own laptop.
What the TV shows across your event
Leave the display on Smart view and it changes screens on its own:
- Check-in before Round 1, when Check-in Mode is on
- Combo view (matchups and standings side by side) during rounds on 6 or fewer courts, or Matchups on more courts
- Bracket during bracket rounds
- Standings when the event ends, with a podium for your winners
The round timer shows at the top of the display while it runs.
Check players in
With Check-in Mode on, every player starts as unavailable. They're checked in as they arrive, either by you or on their own in the app.
To turn it on, set Enable Check-in Mode to Yes under Add a round robin when you create or edit your session.
From your laptop: on the Players tab, under Who's in for round 1?, select each player as they arrive.
Players with the app scan the check-in QR code at your front table, or tap the check-in prompt on the app's home screen.
For the full check-in setup, see How to check players into your event with Check-in Mode.
Check-in Mode is included with Pickleheads Pro and Ultra and available on Plus-powered sessions.
Run your event
If you're running a seeded format or a league, click Sort by rating or Sort by standing on the Players tab first. Then click Create Round 1 Matchups, and the tool builds the round from everyone who's available.
Click Start Round, click Add Score on each game as it finishes, and click End Round when the scores are in. After the last round, click End Event to see your winners on the podium.

After the event
On the Standings tab, click Share the Final Results to make a podium image. Add your own background with Select a Photo if you like, then click Download to save it or Copy to paste it into your group chat or social post.

On the Standings tab, you can also:
- Click Send scores to DUPR to submit the results to DUPR. It shows on sessions that require DUPR.
- Click the download button to save your results as a zip file with two spreadsheets (CSV): your final standings and every game's score.
- Click Email me the results to get the same results by email.

Running several sessions at once
Tournaments often run one session per division, all at the same time. Each division is its own session, so you can keep each one open in its own browser tab.
- Open each division's session page and click Open on its Round Robin card. Each division opens in a new tab.
- Switch between the tabs to start rounds and enter scores in each division.
- For your TVs, open each division's display link on its own screen.
Ready for event day
Open your event on your laptop and put Display Mode on the TV. Check players in, start Round 1 and let players enter their own scores from their phones. You're good to go.
