See for yourself why the Mangrove is the best overall

Features
The five compartments of this bag are all carefully designed to offer you maximum usability. Firstly, the large main pocket easily holds two paddles and a few balls. It’s even big enough to hold a 15” laptop if needed.
Next, the large secondary pocket can hold a change of clothes or a towel. At the front of the bag, there’s a felt-lined pocket for your valuables. It includes a mesh divider to protect your phone screen from your keys.
On the right-hand side is an 8”-deep elasticated mesh pocket, big enough for a large bottle (up to 40 oz). Finally, there’s a hidden security pocket on the back of the bag which is invisible when you’re wearing it to and from the courts.
Design and feel
This bag might look like nothing special with its simple, understated design. But on closer inspection, you’ll realize why it’s so popular. It’s surprisingly spacious and highly versatile. The strap can be swapped from right to left and is padded for the comfort of your shoulders.
Performance
For day-to-day use to and from the courts, this bag has everything covered. It can store everything you need to carry around for your pickleball sessions. Once you’re at the courts, the strong fence hook means you can store it safely off the ground to keep it dry and protect it from wear and tear.
The outer of the bag is made from premium 600D polyester, which makes it scratch-resistant yet smooth to the touch. This fabric is also water-resistant, so your cherished gear is protected from unexpected downpours. The zips seem strong and have lasted well in our testing so far.
Value for money
At $29.99, the Mangrove pickleball bag offers great value for money with its high quality, durable construction, and thoughtful design.

Pros

✔️ Extra-large water bottle holder
✔️ Great value for money
✔️ Durable material and zippers

Cons

❌ Only one strap
❌ Won’t have space for spare shoes

My verdict
The Mangrove is a newcomer to the pickleball bag scene, and there’s a reason it’s so popular with pickleheads across the country. It offers all the features a casual player could ever want at an unbeatable price.

Why we picked it
This bag is more than just an affordable, lightweight sling bag—it packs a ton of useful features, which is why we chose it as our best budget bag.
Who it's for
This is a great bag for any picklehead on a budget, as well as for kids, teenagers, and beginners. It has plenty of space for all your gear and won't break the bank. It also comes in a wide rage of colors to suit anyone’s taste.
special offer

Get the LLYWCM bag & see why 1,100+ players gave it 5*

Features
The main paddle compartment can comfortably hold 2–3 paddles, and maybe even 4 at a push. It’s also large enough for a laptop, and has a built-in sleeve against your back to hold it snugly in place.
On the front of the bag is a deep ball pocket with plenty of space for 3–4 balls. This pocket has a wrap-around zip that allows you to open it right up and grab a ball quickly without rummaging around.
Above the ball pocket are two more zippered pockets: one that’s large enough for a light towel or lunch pack, and another for your phone and keys. At the back of the pack is a hidden pocket for stashing valuables as you travel to and from the courts.
Finally, there's a mesh bottle pocket on the left-hand side with a cord lock to keep your bottle secure.
Design and feel
The whole back of this sling bag is lined with air-mesh padding to keep you cool. It’s not as thick or effective as the more expensive bags, but it’ll go some way to reducing sweat patches. The strap also offers some padding for your shoulders.
This bag comes in a wide range of colors, including a jungle-themed leafy design. There’s also an option to have the main zip for the paddle compartment running down the left of the bag rather than the right. However, this is only available in certain colors.
Performance
For a highly affordable bag, the LLYWCM offering is made of hard-wearing materials that are lightweight yet sturdy.
This bag’s clever reversible and adjustable strap means you can use it as a sling bag on either shoulder by simply unclipping the lower end of the strap and moving it to the d-ring on either side of the bag. It can also be used as a crossbody bag, and tightened across your chest with the sliding toggle.
Instead of a plastic hook, this bag uses a strong fabric loop, which can then have a carabiner or similar fitted for attaching the bag to a fence.
Value for money
For just over 20 bucks, this pickleball bag is a great choice for anyone on a budget. It’s lightweight and durable, and while it doesn't offer some of the frills and extras of its premium competitors, it does everything you need it to.

Pros

✔️ Quick-release adjustable strap
✔️ Easy-open ball pocket
✔️ Plenty of color options
✔️ Affordable price tag

Cons

❌ No fence hook
❌ Back padding a little thin
star icon
My verdict
This pickleball bag is ideal for any picklehead on a budget. Despite the knock-down price tag, it offers plenty of storage. Plus, the adjustable strap means you can swap shoulders depending on your preference.

Why we picked it
We picked the CRBN Pro Team Backpack as our best spacious pickleball bag because it means you can bring everything you could need for a pickleball trip or a long day at the courts.
It has a ton of space divided up into clever and practical compartments. Plus, it’s comfortable to wear, and it looks great on.
Who it's for
This bag is perfect for any picklehead who travels far to play. Whether that’s for tournament days, training camps, or weekends away, this cleverly-designed backpack is the ideal picklehead travel companion.
It would also suit anyone who likes to carry a few paddles along with a change of clothes, such as those who head straight from work to the courts.

Features
The CRBN Pro Team Backpack has so many pockets it’s hard to list them all, but we’ll try our best.
First up, there’s a thermal-lined paddle compartment to fit up to four paddles. This pocket protects your paddles from the heat—a useful feature in the hotter states. In case you need to mix business with pleasure, there’s also a laptop sleeve built into this compartment.
Next, there’s an isolated shoe compartment to keep your sweaty kicks from stinking up the rest of your gear. It’s accessed via a zip in the bottom of the bag. However, it isn’t ventilated like some shoe compartments are.
The main, middle compartment has enough space for your change of clothes and towel, even though the shoe compartment takes up the bottom part of this section. There are three see-through zip pockets inside this compartment, ideal for your first aid gear or phone. There are also some inner side pockets running down each edge.
A clever feature of this bag is an extra zip opening along the front, which gives access to this large middle pocket. You can lay the bag on its back and open it like a suitcase, allowing easier access to any stuff buried at the bottom.
On the exterior of the bag are thermal-lined water bottle pockets on each side, which help to keep your water cool. Finally, the small zip pocket along the top is big enough for a standard phone, but not an XL.
Design and feel
Like all CRBN products, this bag looks great with its simple yet rugged-looking nylon upper and water-resistant tarpaulin lower. The straps are well-cushioned, and there’s a thick but breathable padding along your back.
This backpack is built for heavy use, and is comfortable even when fully loaded, making it ideal for traveling to and from tournaments or even taking with you on a plane.
Performance
The CRBN Pro Team Backpack has a space for just about everything a picklehead needs if they’re traveling to a tournament or flying around the country to attend pickleball events.
The bag has a tough build, with thick nylon in the upper and a water-resistant tarpaulin lower that protects your gear from wet ground and rain showers. The padded air-mesh on the straps and back section give you plenty of comfort without creating sweaty spots.
We find the thermal-lined pockets on the sides great for storing balls on a hot day—it keeps them cool so they don’t get too squishy.
Value for money
At $110, this bag comes in at a great price—especially considering its size, versatility, and quality of build.
Pros
✔️ Pockets for every piece of gear
✔️ Easy clean
✔️ Smell-proof shoe pocket
✔️ Padded straps and back
Cons
❌ Water bottle pocket not big enough for large bottles
❌ Only one color option available
❌ Shoe compartment isn’t ventilated
star icon
My verdict
CRBN is a favorite brand of ours and they’ve nailed it again with this backpack. It looks great on, and can carry all the gear you could possibly need for a tournament day or an after-work session on the courts.

Why we picked it
We chose the Sucipi as our best adjustable option because we love the versatility of the strap and the wide range of colors and designs this brand offers.
Who it's for
This pickleball bag is ideal for anyone who wants to switch between different wearing styles—from crossbody to over the shoulder to backpack. It’s ideal for those who cycle or scooter to and from the courts, and it even comes in high-visibility color options.
special offer

Try the Sucipi backpack & see why it’s a #1 bestseller on Amazon

Features
This offering features six pockets in total, including the padded main pocket for 2–4 paddles with a separator for a 15-inch laptop. Next is a secondary pocket for clothes, a towel, or a few pickleballs.
On the front of the bag is a felt-lined tech pocket to keep your phone safe. Lower down, there’s a personal pocket for valuables like your wallet and keys.
On the left hand side is a roomy water bottle pocket with a cord lock to keep it from falling out. Finally, there’s a hidden security pocket in the back for valuables when you’re on the move.
Design and feel
The Sucipi pickleball bag comes in a massive range of colors and patterns, so there’s something for everyone. We like the ‘Galaxy’ and ‘Flamingo’ themes in particular. The back of the bag has two strips of padding with a channel in the middle to allow air flow along your back.
The straps also use this air-mesh padding. Even with the strap unzipped to make two straps, this bag is comfortable against your shoulders.
Performance
The first thing to mention here is the super-versatile strap system. Like the LLYWCM bag, this strap can be easily unclipped on the bottom and attached to rings on either side. This means you can wear it over your right or left shoulder, or across your body from either side.
Next is the really clever part. The single strap can be unzipped to create two individual straps, which can then be clipped on either side to create a backpack. The top of the bag has a heavyweight plastic fence hook, which tucks away when not in use. This allows you to easily keep the bag safely off the ground.
The bag is also made from tear-resistant, water-resistant nylon that’s reinforced at the high wear points with bar tacks for extra durability. The zips are heavy duty metal, made to withstand plenty of use.
Value for money
At $35.99, this isn’t the cheapest bag on our list, but it's not far off. Plus, the quality of materials and durability is certainly worth the price tag.

Pros

✔️ Can be changed from sling strap to backpack style
✔️ 14 color options available
✔️ Reinforced stitching for durability
✔️ Will hold a large bottle

Cons

❌ Not as spacious as a dedicated backpack
❌ Thin back padding
star icon
My verdict
We love the Sucipi most for its versatile strap system, but it also comes in a great range of colors and styles and fits plenty of gear.

Why we picked it
The Athletico Crossbody is an old favorite of ours, and we’ve chosen it as our best compact pickleball bag. It's lightweight, durable, and surprisingly spacious for its small size.

This is the ideal bag for the casual pickleball player. It has enough space for all your gear for the courts, but won’t fit extras like clothes and shoes.
special offer

See why the Athletico bag is the best compact sling for pickleball

Features
In pocket configuration, this bag is very similar to the Sucipi offering above—just without the divisible strap, of course.
The Athletico Crossbody offers six pockets, starting with the padded main pocket for 2–4 paddles, as well as a compartment for a 15-inch laptop. There’s also an additional pocket for storing a few pickleballs. A felt-lined pocket in the front allows you to keep your phone safe, with additional storage for valuables lower down.
On the left outer of the bag is a roomy water bottle pocket with a cord lock. Finally, there’s a hidden security pocket in the back for valuables when you’re on the move.
Design and feel
The Athlectico features two padded sections against the back, with a gap between them to allow for airflow. This padding is made of air-mesh materials designed to be breathable and help avoid sweaty patches where the bag is in contact with your body.
At the time of writing, Amazon has only two color options available: pink or blue. However, gray and red options are sometimes available.
Performance
This is a reversible sling bag, meaning the strap can be worn on either shoulder, or as a crossbody bag. To move the strap from side to side, you just unclip it at the bottom and move it to the right or left d-ring as desired.
A unique feature of the Athletico is its quick release strap, which features a buckle right in the middle of your chest. This function is super useful when you’re wearing it as a crossbody bag as you can avoid pulling the strap over your head, knocking off your bike helmet, or messing up your hair.
This bag is also wipeable and easy to clean, and has a strong hide-away fence hook to store it off the ground while you play.
Value for money
At just under $50, this bag isn't the cheapest option on our list, but it delivers plenty for the money. Plus, Athletico offers a 100% money-back guarantee if you're not satisfied.

Pros

✔️ Lightweight and compact
✔️ Only three color options
✔️ Versatile hybrid design

Cons

❌ Too small for shoes and clothes
❌ A little on the pricey side for a small bag

My verdict
For a small bag, this bag offers plenty of functionality for a casual pickleball player and has been a favorite of ours for years.

Why we picked it
We picked this backpack from Himal for more than its looks. It’s a great price for a durable bag, and we think the quick-access paddle pocket is a neat feature.
Who it's for
On paper, this bag is designed to be used for a number of racket and paddle sports, but we’ve found that it’s perfectly suited to pickleball. It’s ideal if you walk long distances to and from the courts. It’s also great for anyone cycling, using a scooter, or who simply prefers a two-strapped backpack.
Many reviewers on Amazon bought these bags for their kids and teenagers, as they are lightweight and easy on the back.
special offer

Try the Himal bag & see what makes it a great backpack

Features
For a relatively compact bag, the Himal packs plenty of storage features. This is the first bag on our list that doesn’t have the paddles in the pocket directly against your back. Instead, the main compartment is designed to hold your shoes, clothes and towel. It also has an inner sleeve to hold a laptop in place.
Next is the middle paddle compartment, where the top is left open and the paddle handles protrude a little. There’s a long zip down the side of the pack that you open to slide your paddles in and out. This means you can easily grab paddles when your bag is hanging on the fence beside the courts.
There are two front pockets. The lower one is large enough for several pickleballs, while the upper is designed for small valuables. On either side of the bag are elasticated mesh pockets, suitable for slim water bottles. Finally, there’s a hidden pocket in the back for your wallet.
Design and feel
While there are only two color options available, both look great. The wide horizontal zippers and matching water bottle pockets on either side give this bag a minimal, symmetrical look that we love.
The whole back of the backpack is padded, and as are the straps. There’s no air channel here though, so in high temperatures, this may cause sweaty patches on the back.
Performance
The straps on the Himal are fully adjustable, meaning a young person can tighten them up to a comfortable length. There’s a heavy-duty fence hook at the top which neatly hides away in its own nook.
The outer of the backpack is made from 600D polyester, which is thick and durable enough to stand up to life on and off the courts. It’s also water resistant, and easy to clean.
Value for money
At just $32.99, this bag is great value for money. It even comes with a one-year limited warranty.

Pros

✔️ Easy access paddle pouch
✔️ Hard-wearing and water resistant material
✔️ Affordable price tag

Cons

❌ Water bottle pockets are small
❌ May run a little hot against the back in warm conditions
star icon
My verdict
This is a very useful bag for pickleball, built to take plenty of use without falling apart. The water bottle pockets are annoyingly small, but at least there are two of them.

Why we picked it
We couldn’t leave this classic off the list—it’s served us so well over the years as an excellent lightweight sling. It topped our list of best pickleball bags in the past and it continues to deliver as a great all-rounder.
Who it's for

special offer

Get the Franklin bag & see why 3,400+ players gave it 5*

Features
This bag has a simple pocket configuration. Firstly, there’s one large paddle pocket that some claim can hold up to six paddles (we’d say more like 3–4). This has a long zip running the whole length of the bag from top to bottom, making it easy to get your paddles in and out.
The middle pocket can hold a pair of sneakers, a towel, or several pickleballs. At the front of the bag is a small, zippered pocket for your phone, keys, or wallet, while the mesh pounch of the righ-hand side is perfect for a water bottle.
Design and feel
The adjustable shoulder strap has a quick release buckle, so you don’t have to pull the strap over your head if you’re wearing it as a crossbody bag. The back of the bag has built-in pressure reducing back pads, made from air-mesh material. The wide air channel between them allows for airflow and keeps your back cool.
There are five color combinations available, which go well with the neat, three zipper design and make this a great-looking bag overall.
Performance
There’s a hidden buckle tucked inside the corners at the bottom left and right corners of the bag. This gives you the option to switch the shoulder strap from left to right, meaning you can hang it off each shoulder or use it as a crossbody bag if you need more security, such as when cycling.
Value for money
For under $40, you get a simple, functional sling bag from one of the world’s most trusted sports brands: Franklin.

Pros

✔️ Spacious, despite its compact size
✔️ Official bag of USA Pickleball
✔️ Supportive pads on back

Cons

❌ No hidden security pocket

We’ve been using this bag for years and we can’t fault it. It’s an ideal compact pickleball bag. You won’t fit much more than the essentials, but that’s all you need most of the time.

Features
This bag’s layout is simple. It has one roomy main compartment with a full-length zip, allowing it to open up wide. It also has two exterior sleeve pockets that are open at the top.
One of those pockets has ventilation holes for your damp towel or shirt. Meanwhile, the other is smaller and designed for a phone or keys.
Design and feel
This bag’s main perk is its roominess, which makes it easy to see and grab your gear without rummaging around. The exterior look of the bag is simple and plain.
Performance
This is a no-frills bag, so it does exactly what it's supposed to—it holds your paddles, balls, and clothes. It has an adjustable shoulder strap and short hand carry straps, both of which benefit from reinforced stitching.
Value for money
One of our favorite aspects of this bag is the price tag. For under $25, you get a spacious, hard-wearing sports bag that comes with a 6-month limited warranty.

✔️ Spacious, open interior
✔️ Plenty of space for shoes and a change of clothes

Why we picked it
JOOLA is one of the top brands in pickleball, and we absolutely love their paddles—especially the Ben Johns Hyperion CFS 16. So, when we saw they were making bags, we had to try one out. And we weren’t disappointed.
Who it's for
This bag isn’t for beginners or casual players. It’s a premium, high-performance bag with all the bells and whistles—and a big price tag to match. If you want to look serious arriving at the courts, this is the bag for you.

Features
This one has a ton to talk about here, so here goes! Starting from the inside out, the large main compartment is designed to hold your shoes, clothes, packed lunch, and any other gear you need for a trip to a tournament or a full day on the courts.
This opens up wide with two zips attached to a central handle, allowing for super easy access to the whole storage space. Inside this compartment are four smaller zippered pockets, one of which has a handy car key tether to avoid any drama after your session. The other is felt-lined to protect your tech.
On both sides of that compartment are thermal lined paddle pockets, each of which can hold two paddles comfortably (even elongated ones). On the outer of each of the paddle pockets are two extra pockets for balls, water bottles, and any other gear you want to separate from the main storage.
Finally, there’s a ventilated bottom pocket to store your sweaty shoes and shirt after a session on the courts.
Design and feel
From the moment you pick up this bag, it’ll feel like a premium, well-built piece of equipment. The exterior is a tough fabric, the zips are strong and sturdy, and the straps are reinforced. All of the edges that make up the outer shell of the bag are also protected by piped seams.
The bag has a professional look too, with its enlarged paddle shape and JOOLA branding on the sides. There are seven color schemes to choose from, but we particularly like the black and yellow option.
Performance
You can tell this bag was developed with the pros—like Ben Johns—in mind. It has all the features an intermediate to advanced player might need when attending tournaments. It’s also great for the dedicated player who brings lots of paddle and other gear to the courts.
The thermal-lined paddle pockets protect your cherished paddle from the heat and the cold, maintaining them at a more constant temperature to avoid warping. The heavy duty zips slide effortlessly, and the whole bag feels solidly built and durable.
Another aspect of this bag that we love is its adaptability. You can easily convert it from a backpack to a duffel bag by tucking away the backpack straps into their own sleeves on the back panel and picking it up by the carry straps on the front.
Despite the size and heft of this offering, it has a strong fence hook to keep it off the ground while you’re playing. You'll just have to make sure the fence is strong enough to hold it!
Value for money
This is the most expensive bag on our list, but it’s also the most professional and high quality. If you’re on a budget, try something else. However, if you’re ready to invest in your game, this bag won’t disappoint.

Pros

✔️ Thermally-insulated compartments to keep your paddles safe
✔️ Plenty of space and compartments for tournament days or pickleball weekends
✔️ Ventilated pocket to isolate stinky shoes

Cons

❌ No dedicated water bottle pocket
❌ Expensive price tag

How to choose the best pickleball bags

When researching and testing bags for this list, we rated them on a carefully chosen set of criteria. Using these criteria as well as reading a lot of reviews by other users, we narrowed down the list to the top nine.

A pickleball bag, two paddles, three balls, and a water bottle on a pickleball court

Quality

The number one thing to look for when choosing a pickleball bag is the quality of the materials, the stitching, and the zips. The last thing you want is your bag falling apart when it's full of your gear.

Comfort

If you’re a true picklehead, you spend a lot of time carrying your gear to and from the courts, so a pickleball bag that’s comfortable to carry is a must.

Look for padded straps, soft padding on the back and lumbar area, and breathable material where it comes in contact with your body.

Compartments

You need a bag that can carry everything you usually for your pickleball sessions: valuables, clean clothes, water bottle, and balls. And let’s not forget your paddles.

Adjustability

Your pickleball bag needs to be adaptable to varying methods of transport. If you sometimes ride a bike and sometimes jog to the courts, make sure your bag can keep up.

For example, open-top pockets are a definite no-no. Meanwhile, quick-release clips on the strap mean you can take off your bag without having to first take off your helmet. Any bag that you take a day away at a tournament should hold the extras like a change of clothes and plenty of snacks.

Durability

Bag durability is crucial, especially if you plan to use it for years to come. Over time and hard use on the courts, seams and edges can start to fray and straps can get worn. This is all normal wear and tear, but we tried to pick bags that won’t start to fall apart after a few weeks of use.

Zips and buckles are common weak points. When they break, they can render the bag totally useless, so we made sure our top bags performed well in these areas.

Size

Before choosing your pickleball bag, consider how many paddles you plan to carry. Are you hoping to pack all the gear for you and your partner? Or the whole family? Will you head straight to the courts from the office?

Style

Everyone wants to look good on their way to the courts. But does that mean subdued and classy, or outrageously flashy? Choose the style, color scheme, and print that best suits your personality.

Price

This one’s a no-brainer. Choose a pickleball bag within your budget, with the best price/benefit ratio.

Type

Finally, do you need a pickleball bag that’ll also carry your laptop? Or does it need to double up as a beach bag at the weekend?

There are different types to choose from: sling bags, duffle bags, backpack bags, drawstring, or tote bags. Choose the one that fits your needs and preferences.

Bottom line

That wraps up our list of the top pickleball bags on the market today. The Mangrove tops the list for its awesome pickleball-specific features, durability, and wallet-friendly price tag, but there are lots of great options.

To recap, here are our top picks:

  1. Mangrove Pickleball Bag: Best bag overall
  2. LLYWCM Pickleball Bag: Best budget bag
  3. CRBN Pro Team Backpack: Best spacious bag
  4. Sucipi Pickleball Backpack: Best adjustable bag
  5. Athletico Crossbody Sling Bag: Best compact bag
