I have other shoes I'm supposed to be testing, but I haven't wanted to take the K-Swiss Express Light off. I've worn them as my primary court shoe for almost three months, and they've handled everything I've thrown at them, from long sessions to the walk to and from the courts.
We put these on our guide to the best pickleball shoes primarily for their awesome value, but the big surprise is how well they've held up. Court shoes usually get a drag hole by the big toe within a month or two of heavy dink sliding, and these haven't.
My verdict5.0Outstanding value at $115: plush out of the box, stable, grippy and far more durable than most shoes in their class. The only real gripe is the stock insole, which is an easy fix.

Review summary
The Express Light from K-Swiss is an easy shoe to recommend. I wore it as my everyday shoe for almost three months, so it saw everything: warm-ups, long sessions, and the walk to and from the courts. Comfort and durability are the headline, and the traction and stability are every bit as good as I'd want from a court shoe.
The one thing I'd change is the insole. The fabric top layer began to roll up and peel after extended use, which caused some minor discomfort, so I swapped it. Given how many players replace their insoles anyway, I don't count it against what is otherwise a top-tier upper and outsole.
Features
Durability that outlasts the drag hole
Heavy dink sliding usually wears a hole near the big toe within one to two months. After three months of straight wear, the Express Light shows only slight wear on the outer, with nothing broken through.
K-Swiss builds the outsole from Aosta rubber with its DragGuard technology.
A cushioned footbed that protects your joints
The cushioning is soft and plush right away, and it keeps hips and joints feeling good after long sessions.
The shoe ships with a die-cut Ortholite X40 sock liner.
Grip that doesn't let go
The traction is high on court, and I never had a slip or a traction problem.
Stability built into the shoe
K-Swiss uses a 180-degree Plantar Support Chassis, which fits with the excellent lateral stability I felt on court.
How the K-Swiss Express Light shoes play
I tested these as my primary shoe for almost three months. I played in them about three times a week for two hours at a time, on outdoor-style court surfaces. Most of that was at indoor facilities, which means traditional outdoor courts under a roof rather than a gym floor. That's roughly six hours a week at a 5.0 level, well past our five-hour testing minimum.

Comfort - 9/10
They fit true to size in my 9.5, and they feel soft, plush and cushioned out of the box, even with the stock insoles. They're great for all-day wear, both walking to the courts and playing.
Breathability - 8/10
Good, though the upper is slightly thicker than ultra-thin, minimalist court shoes. They're not heavy or overwhelming, but they aren't the most ventilated shoe on the market.
Support - 9/10
Lateral stability is excellent. I had zero ankle rolls, arch pain or foot fatigue, and no hip or joint soreness after long sessions.
Speed - 9/10
They move well on court and the footwork response is solid. They're not quite as low-profile or ultra-lightweight as a shoe like the JOOLA.
Durability - 10/10
This is where they stand out. Three months of continuous wear and no drag hole. The only issue was the stock insole fabric peeling, which an aftermarket insole fixes.
Traction - 9/10
High grip with no slipping or traction issues.
Are the K-Swiss Express Light shoes worth it?
Most definitely. At $115, you get a shoe that is comfortable straight away, supports your joints and lasts far longer than most court shoes in this range. For players who want durability, support and high-end comfort without top-tier pricing, it's an easy recommendation, and it's the shoe I kept reaching for even when I had others to test.
