***NOW with prizes provided by RedBear, and highlights by SwingVision*** Designed to be friendly to all players up to DUPR 3.8. Individual entry, no partner required. Format to be confirmed, but it will be based on the popcorn format - no fixed partners. You will play with and against as many people as possible. Phase 1: 6 players are assigned per court - 9 rounds of 8 minute games will be played, giving each player 6 games, and playing WITH every other player. 90 minutes will be allowed for this phase. The top Gent and Lady from each court as well as the next top 2 Ladies and Gents (across the 4 courts) will form Division 1. The rest will form Division 2. Exact group (court) setup will depend on the make up of entries. Phase 2: Same format as Phase 1 with 9 8 minute games per court played over the next 90 minutes. Phase 3: Semi-Finals and Finals: The top 2 ladies and Men from each court in each division will be randomly drawn with each other to play Semis and Finals - first to 15 points in each. Scores will be entered into DUPR, if no ID is provided a 'ghost' ID will be created for your email address, you can choose to 'adopt' this or just forget about it. This has been designed to welcome new players to tournament play, and give as much fun as possible to all. Some tweaks to the set up may occur before the day. I am considering whether the divisional play courts should be 'gendered' giving Kings and Queens of the courts prior to the Semi's and Finals.
