Dr. Kearney Middle School Gymnasium

Come play pickleball at Dr. Kearney Middle School Gymnasium in Fort St. John, BC! There are 9 wood courts. 6 are indoors and 3 are outdoors. The lines are permanent, and portable nets are available. A one-time fee is required to play. Players have access to restrooms and water. Annually, the Peace Country Pickleball Association enters a User Agreement with the Dr. Kearney school. Indoor play organized by the club is intended to be primarily for club members although drop-ins are allowed. In 2024-2025 the club may need to restrict drop-ins due to the reduced # of courts available. During the summer of 2024, the school gymnasium was refinished. The lines for the 4 courts that are typically used by the club were not repainted. Instead lines for 6 courts were repainted. We have not used these lines before. The courts are only 2' apart, 1' from the walls and bleachers and the baselines for the courts where they meet in the centre of the gymnasium are only 2' apart. They are crowded and play there will be unsafe unless we only only use 3 courts in a staggered configuration. The club will experiment with possible solutions before confirming how the space will be used.
